Perch 2.4
We’ve just shipped Perch 2.4 which is a release with no one big headline feature. Instead we have been through the forums and tickets to see which things were causing you most frustration and aimed to resolve some of those issues.
It can be all too easy to focus on adding big features so we wanted to make sure we were also looking at the little things that trip you or your clients up when working with Perch. You can take a look at the release notes for the full rundown, we’ll also be highlighting a few of the changes here on the blog over the next week or so.
One small feature we have added as a response to feedback is that you now have the option to configure the shortcode Ctrl-E to send you directly to the edit page from the front end of the website. It requires that you add perch_get_javascript()
to your pages. Once in place if your editor is looking at their site and sees a problem, they can hit Ctrl-E to go straight to admin (logging in if required) to make the change. This should speed things up for editors in larger sites, as they won’t have to find the content in the admin.
