Special offer: Upgrades discounted 50% in July

It’s been more than a year since the launch of Perch 2, and Perch has come a long way since then.

Already a significant upgrade in its own right, in the last year we’ve added loads of new features and improvements to navigation, templating, custom content, scheduled tasks, responsive web design, retina images, layouts, feathers, sending emails, supporting timezones, as well as tightening security and improving performance and memory use.

It’s not just Perch Core, either. The last year has seen major updates to the Blog, Gallery, Twitter, and Shop apps, improvements to Events, Forms and Backup, and the addition of the Members and Comments apps. We’ve also added or updated CKEditor, TinyMCE, Redactor and Ace editor plugins. We’ve added dashboard widgets for Campaign Monitor and MailChimp email services, and created field types for YouTube, Vimeo, AudioBoo, SlideShare and more.

We have a fantastic new documentation site, and heaps of video tutorials and examples to guide you through building a site with Perch 2.

But if you’re still on Perch 1, none of that applies. Although Perch 1.8.4 is, for the moment, currently supported, it is not receiving any updates and can’t take advantage of the new add-ons. So we thought we’d give you an opportunity to upgrade at a super special summer price.

Upgrades are normally half the price of a full license. For July 2013 we’ve slashed that in half again. Buy an upgrade in July and save 50% off the normal price. 12.50 GBP / 17.50 EUR / 21 USD. That’s just 25% of the cost of a full license.

If that weren’t enough, here’s some good reasons to upgrade an existing site:

• Our support resources are much, much better for Perch 2
• The database connection method that Perch 1 uses has been deprecated in newer versions of PHP. If you change hosts, or your current host upgrades their servers to the latest PHP, you may run into problems.
• Perch 2 is designed to scale up to larger sites in a way Perch 1 never was. As you add more content and pages, Perch 2 will offer your clients at much more pleasant editing experience.

Here’s the really useful bit: you don’t have to apply your upgrade immediately – you can do it whenever. This means you can take advantage of this special offer by buying today, but then apply it to the site when you next do some work on it, or just keep it in the bag in case you need it further down the road. Buying an upgrade and applying it to a license are two separate steps.

We’ve never had a discount this good. Perhaps the sunshine has gone to our heads, but you’d be crazy to miss out.
